About the American Advertising Awards Competition
The American Advertising Awards Competition (ADDY Awards) is the advertising industry’s largest and most prestigious competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local American Advertising Federation (AAF) club competitions. Our local AAF club, known as AAF Oklahoma, hosts the first of a three-tier, national competition that honors the outstanding contributions of advertising practitioners.
Only the best work will then move on to the district level, then the national level for the opportunity to elevate your agency as one of the best in the nation.
AAF Oklahoma’s tradition of service to the advertising industry and to the community continues as its members endeavor to reach new heights through education, advocacy, and professional opportunities. Averaging more than a thousand entries that represent dozens of agencies from the OKC, Tulsa, and Wichita Falls, TX area, the American Advertising Awards competition has achieved status as a “must-attend” industry event.

This distinction elevates the American Advertising Awards above virtually every other advertising competition.

Any entries submitted between January 12-16, 2023 will be subject to a late fee.

AAF Oklahoma will be hosting the People’s Choice competition during the Going Rogue gala.
Five nominees will be selected by our panel of out-of-region judges. Each gala attendee will receive a free ticket to vote. Each additional vote is a $10 cash donation benefiting AAF Oklahoma and our AES scholarships. Cash donations will be accepted through the show’s intermission and the winner will be announced at the end of the gala.
The voting table will be set up on the second floor of The Criterion. Congrats to all the nominees!
In a time with so much change, limited attention spans and rules being thrown out the door, let’s Go Rogue!
Entries for AAF Oklahoma’s Local Only category, Steal the Show, can be in any media format, regardless of whether or not the work was published. Here’s your chance to unarchive that design that your clients thought was “too much” or show off one of your clever and perfectly timed, yet non-business-related, GIFs that only got to shine in your team’s Slack channel.
Entries will be judged on a variety of factors that includes one or more of the following:
- Breaks the design rules
- Visually captivating
- Unique combinations of fonts, colors, images
In this category, rules are meant to be broken!
*REMINDER* Local Only entries cannot advance to the District or National competitions.
