Position Summary

The Data Systems Manager (DSM) reports to the Director of Technology and is responsible for developing and maintaining the multiple data systems and related databases and collection tools. The DSM prioritizes development efforts and ensures that everything PS develops aligns with the business goals. The DSM is the evangelist for CRM, custom software solutions, and data integrity. This role will work closely with the Director of Technology to help identify the appropriate software solutions for a given project. The DSM will also engage heavily with stakeholders to ensure that each project is progressing in alignment with the business objectives. This position requires demonstrated leadership and keen organization skills, an unwavering commitment to excellence, the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, and the proven ability to motivate teams to excel in processes from concept development to project completion.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions

  • Build, negotiate, and maintain product roadmaps and convert high-level feature proposals and customer problems into workable increments on product level
  • Develop, maintain, and revise plans for projects including project objectives, product lifecycles, timelines, budget, and staffing, in conjunction with leadership, program staff and project managers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, testers, DevOps, and other engineers, to ensure that the product is developed according to the company's goals and standards
  • Work with stakeholders and project managers to flesh out business requirements and ensure that the team is solving the right problems to help the business
  • Build bridges between engineering and business. Give feedback and synchronize with other involved roles to make sure everybody is informed
  • Write well-structured documentation and contribute to demos and marketing material
  • Participate in business development activities projects, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Applicable fields and disciplines include business, information technology, social sciences, humanities, medical sciences, public health, public administration, public policy, education, and related fields depending on subsequent experience.
  • Will consider 4+ years work experience in lieu of degree

Experience

  • Five years of relevant work experience in software engineering, project management, information technology
  • Familiar with software engineering projects and able to navigate around in technical documentations / details and read code
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills and ability to effectively to communicate technology needs from client to development team and vice versa, required
  • Experiences in the design of API products or data modeling
  • Proven writing skills, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a relational database
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following products Efforts To Outcomes (ETO), SalesForce, SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Dynamics, Power Apps, Power BI or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) type relational database, strongly preferred
