Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy, this position will be responsible for developing and leading revenue generating marketing efforts for one or more of the organizations target verticals. This includes evaluating all opportunities with products, net new customer acquisition, sales enablement, partner development and lead generation. This position will be accountable for targeted vertical growth and setting forth the strategy of how to best leverage Heartland’s robust product offerings and partner channels as well as a direct sales structure for a national company.

Job Details:

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and own the revenue goals within identified audiences and product suites including the creation of trackable strategies that will allow measuring the effectiveness of efforts.

  • Create comprehensive plans and communications around sales enablement tools and marketing collateral for internal and external audiences.

  • Identify specific plans to best leverage identified addressable market, market share opportunities, competitive positioning, growth objectives and revenue targets.

  • Utilize established customer personas to identify product growth and revenue generation opportunities and set strategies to capture the leads and meet targets.

  • Understand target verticals and be the voice of the customer and be intimately familiar with the pain points, goals, drivers, motivators, challenges, trends, demographics and characteristics of the audience in order to build strong marketing campaigns to attract attention and maximize return.

  • Manage the budget and marketing plan for the marketing efforts of those products that meet the needs within the targeted verticals.

  • Work with product owners to conduct market analysis for new products and product enhancements. Identify opportunities within untapped markets and competitive landscape.

  • Serve as the product and audience evangelist to create an understanding of needs within the marketing team.

  • Understand the product road maps and align marketing strategies and go to market plans in order to reach targeted growth each quarter, adjusting plans as needed. Work with management team to identify emerging markets and additional expansion opportunities.

  • Participate as a member of the vertical focus initiative team in order to push plans forward and prioritize project by audience demand.

  • Serve as the marketing contact within appropriate customer focus areas to funnel requests into the department project pipeline and workflow to set priorities and align requests with strategic plans.

  • Working with the Pragmatic Marketing methodology, setting go to market plans, positioning statements, personas, sales enablement tools, digital marketing plans, content development strategies, event goals and distribution channels.

  • Manage the marketing objectives within the product management platform to ensure alignment with campaigns and product development.

  • Support Marketing team, Strategic Team and Senior Director as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business is preferred.

  • Five or more years experience in business development, data analytics, marketing, or strategic planning.

  • Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously. 

  • Background in retail, hospitality, food service, sales or e-commerce is a plus.

  • Works well with timelines and prioritizing projects.

  • Excellent communicator who works to build solid relationships with people across multiple channels.

  • Strategic thinker who understands how individual contributions make an impact to the bigger picture.

  • A customer oriented attitude who works to create an understanding with others.

  • Ability to gain insight and credibility with internal and external customers.

  • Goal focused and motivated to complete projects in a timely manner.

  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team and able to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

  • Experience with SalesForce or other CRM platform is a plus.

  • Strong strategic agility and ability to see the long term view and all the moving pieces needed to accomplish goals.

  • Sense of entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to try new things in order to meet objectives.  

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in managing a marketing plan and budget in order to reach revenue targets and returns on investment.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment is a must.
