Description
Candor is looking for a Director of Accounts to provide senior executive management and oversight of accounts, projects and campaigns involving any aspect of integrated communications.   • Serve as a thought partner for Candor’s senior executives as it relates to account direction and assignments
  • Conduct strategic and tactical planning of assigned accounts, projects and campaigns
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality services, results and documents in accordance with contractual commitments to clients
  • Orchestrate internal and contracted resources to achieve client and Candor objectives
  • Manage account budgets and finances including time applied, overage, expenses, billing and collections related to assigned accounts
  • Identify marketing opportunities for the firm and develop presentations and proposals to market services
  • Mentor assigned staff including coaching, training and performance management
  • Communicate in a timely manner to all stakeholders, including company owners, pertinent items of progress, issues and results
In addition to operational duties, the Director of Accounts will also
  • Serve as a point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the agency and/or Candor clients
  • Work as a liaison between accounts teams and creative departments (graphics and video) to produce quality client deliverables
  • Help recruit, manage and develop top talent for the agency
  • Actively promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Attend networking events, seminars and conferences, including outside working hours, as required to maintain personal professional development and to build networking and new business contacts
  • Develop qualified sales opportunities among prospective and existing clients

Qualifications
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of previous agency experience, demonstrating leadership in managing strategic communications, media relations, and marketing programs to advance an organization’s mission and goals
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and editors, successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements
  • Experience with social media influencer engagement, content campaigns, video production and media coverage amplification
  • Experience in being creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized
  • Extensive successful writing and editing experience with a variety of print and online communications media
  • Direct experience in growing and managing teams, directing the service strategy for clients, creating budgets for accounts and overseeing staff
  • Experience in public speaking and serving as a spokesperson
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
