About the position:

  • Provide specialized customer service to visiting groups.
  • Lead new customer relationship management (CRM) implementation.
  • Connect with local partners for packaging and itineraries.
  • Create a group calendar of large events to share.
  • Oversee the Visit Emond grant and sponsorship program.
  • Attend industry events and educational seminars to develop relationships and stay informed on the best practices within the tourism industry.

  • High school degree or GED equivalent, plus 19-23 months of related training and or experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Divers License and a Driving record acceptable to the City’s Insurance carrier.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or communications related field and 2 years’ experience within those fields is preferred.
  • Preferred experience in the hospitality industry, marketing services, and knowledge of Edmond and the greater metro area is important to this job.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams, Google Drive, Google sheets, Google Docs, PDF form Builders.)
  • Preferred intermediate knowledge of Google Analytics platform, CRM software and Simpleview.
  • Basic graphic design software, specifically Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and achieve successful completion of group and conference bookings.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to look at event plans from a risk management and public safety point of view.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in a variety of environments.
  • Must be willing to use personal vehicle for city business.
  • Must be able to pass an investigative background process.
