Position Summary

Public Strategies is seeking a dynamic tech-savvy Broadcast Specialist to spearhead the training broadcasts across Oklahoma. The Broadcast Specialist will play a crucial role in broadcasting content for the Work Ready Oklahoma Statewide sites as well as handling A\V needs for events at PS.

The Broadcast Specialist will actively work with the Marketing and Events & Logistics teams to ensure meeting and event spaces are always working and user-friendly. Specialist will also be working closely with the break/fix team in the IT department to ensure all events stream smoothly.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the technical setup and execution of live broadcasts to multiple locations.
  • Ensure seamless operation of all broadcast equipment, including camera switching and graphic integrations.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison, coordinating with communicators and instructors to ensure clarity and effectiveness of content delivery.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of broadcast equipment to prevent any technical glitches.
  • Innovate and improve broadcasting techniques to enhance the learning experience.
  • Leads the troubleshooting of Conference, Webinar and Distance Learning rooms.
  • Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
  • Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely, positive and professional manner.
  • A passion for the A/V industry outside of work, enabling them to stay up to date on new technology and techniques in the industry.
  • Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
  • Responsible for the security of all company assets during in-person and off-site events.
  • Must be able to calmly walk into a room with an A/V crisis and solve the issue with minimal disturbance and stress to attendees and presenters
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Technology, Engineering, Communications, or a related field
  • Will consider 4+ years’ work experience in lieu of degree


  • 3+ years’ experience operating a video switcher to seamlessly combine multiple camera feeds, graphics, and other sources for live broadcasts, events, and recordings.
  • Proven experience in a broadcast specialist role, preferably in an educational or training setting.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Proficient with broadcast software (i.e. vMix, Wirecast, Open Broadcast Software (OBS))
  • Strong understanding of broadcasting technologies, including camera operation, graphic design software, and streaming platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A passion for education and the empowerment of others through knowledge.
  • Ability to travel to different locations across the state as required.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, fostering open communication and problem-solving with colleagues and clients.

  • Maintains impeccable organization of workflow, equipment, and documentation, ensuring efficient project execution.
