About the American Advertising Awards Competition

The American Advertising Awards Competition (ADDY Awards) is the advertising industry’s largest and most prestigious competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local American Advertising Federation (AAF) club competitions. Our local AAF club, known as OKC Ad Club, hosts the first of a three-tier, national competition that honors the outstanding contributions of advertising practitioners. 

Only the best work will then move on to the district level, then national level for the opportunity to elevate your agency as one of the best in the nation.

OKC Ad Club’s tradition of service to the advertising industry and to the community continues as its members endeavor to reach new heights through education, advocacy, and professional opportunities. Averaging more than a thousand entries that represent dozens of agencies from the OKC and Tulsa area, the ADDY Awards competition has achieved the status as a “must-attend” industry event.

COVID-19 Response Plan for 2022 ADDY Awards Gala

We are incredibly excited to gather in person for our 2022 ADDY Awards Gala. Being reunited in community with you again will be the highlight of our year!

The health and safety of our attendees, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. Science tells us that COVID-19 will be with us in some form for years to come. For as long as it’s needed, we are committed to reducing the risk of COVID-19 exposure by following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our local health officials.

SAFETY FIRST!

Everyone who attends the event will be required to show proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test (taken no earlier than February 16, 2022). Digital or physical copies will be accepted.

You can order free at-home COVID-19 tests here.

  • The Criterion has enhanced sanitation practices and employs a cleaning team to deep clean before and after every event. 
  • Hand sanitizers will be placed on every table and throughout the venue.
  • CDC guidelines recommend that attendees bring and wear face masks, but it is not required. 

We will continually monitor the situation and in an effort to follow the most up-to-date recommendations from the CDC and our local health officials, we will update this policy as new information is released. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. If you do not feel well or have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or COVID-like symptoms within the past 7 days, we request that you not attend. The 2022 ADDY Awards Professional and Student winners will represent the best of the best. It is the size of the idea that matters most, not the size of the organization that created the work, nor the size of the budget behind it. This distinction elevates the ADDY Awards above virtually every other advertising competition. 

The deadline to submit entries at the regular price is Wednesday, January 14, 2022 at 11:59pm!

Any entries submitted between January 15-19, 2022 will be subject to a late fee.

Professional Entries

Required for Professional Entries

Judging for all Professional Entries will be conducted virtually again this year. All Professional Entries will only need to be submitted digitally. No physical drop-offs will be accepted for Professional Entries.

We require physical copies for Student Entries only to display them during the cocktail hour portion during the ADDY Awards gala.

OKC Ad Club covers the cost to forward all student Gold winning entries to the District competition. Students may advance their Silver & Bronze winning entries to the District competition for a $25 entry fee payable by the student by 12pm on March 1, 2022.

OKC Ad Club will be hosting the People’s Choice competition during the Ad Space gala. These five nominees have been selected by our panel of out-of-region judges. Each attendee will receive a free ticket to vote and each additional vote requires a $10 cash donation benefiting OKC Ad Club and our AES scholarships. Cash donations will be accepted through the show’s intermission and the winner will be announced at the end of the gala. The voting table will be set up on the upper deck on the second floor of The Criterion. Congrats to all the nominees!
