Darin Dugan is the Vice President of National Marketing for SONIC and has been with SONIC since July 2017 coming from DineEquity Applebee’s brand, a 1,850 unit division with annual revenues of $5B, based in Glendale, California. Darin is in charge of brand management, media, creative communications and all social/digital activation for the SONIC brand. Additionally, Darin works closely with innovation and leading new product development to market.
Darin graduated from UW Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and subsequently received his MBA in Marketing from UW Madison. At that time, Darin joined Kraft Food’s Oscar Mayer division, where he ran several businesses including Cold Cuts and leading the turnaround of the Lunchables brand. Darin spent about 15 years with Kraft – moving from Oscar Mayer to Rogers Ark and running marketing and strategy for Kraft Foods NA at Walmart. Darin completed his career at Kraft, in Chicago running the Grocery business including such brands as Blue Box Mac & Cheese, Miracle Whip, Bullseye BBQ, Grey Poupon just to name a few.
Darin is thrilled to be running marketing for SONIC, a true Americana brand and is excited about the merger with Inspire Brands to take SONIC to the next level. Darin is enjoying Oklahoma City and lives near north in Edgemere Park.
